Interstellar Clicker
This is a small game I made for the Clicker Winter Jam 2023, and although there was a 10-day timeframe, between school and other activities I only had around 3-4 days to work on it. This is my first game jam and the first game I've ever published so I would appreciate honest feedback.
Overall I'm happy with what I finished, but I wish I could've had some extra time for things like better menus, more animations, and overall just other small details

The x4 upgrades after the warp only give x2. The PRICE gets x4, but, actual points per click after second upgrade were 94, then 188, then 376.
Just one warp? Did it say that in the help at the beginning? There does not appear to be a way to view that again once the game starts.
There's no in-game affordance to indicate hitting Tab will open the upgrade menu.
There's no indication in the upgrade menu what each upgrade will do or which value (idle or click) will increase.
The cost and value of the x2/x4 upgrades increases at the same time. So it becomes a fixed number of clicks to get to the next one.
It doesn't idle when it's not the active element. So we can't leave this game running and earning while we do something else on the computer.
Everything is behind the planet. So if we're clicking and an asteroid flies up and gets hit, we have no idea how much it was worth. Though probably not much. It does not appear to scale with the other sources of income.
Not game specific, but why is the area given by Itch.io so large, when the game only takes up a small fraction of it in the middle?
Hey thank you for taking the time to play and give feedback. There was a “How To Play” button which said how to open the upgrade menu and described the first warp. Besides that all the other feedback is very good and I would’ve added most of the polish things you mentioned if I had more time, along with more warps, better multiplier balancing, fixing things going behind the button, and making it run in the background. Also this is my first time uploading to itch so I’m not sure either lol
